On Being a Dentist
As a new dentist, I am learning so much. I wake up every day looking forward to seeing each patient, new or established, and to the relationships I am building with them. It’s great to meet the patients of Dr. Sprinkle and Dr. Young, who’ve been coming to the practice for many years, and I look forward to continuing these relationships, as well as building new ones of my own. I am excited to be an active part of the community and I know my life will be enriched by my unique connection with my patients. Being able to help amazing people with everything from dental emergencies to restoring function to elective cosmetic care is so rewarding.
I enjoy getting to know my patients and looking back after their treatment, knowing I’ve done quality work that they can trust for years to come. I am thankful to get to know so many wonderful people from different walks of life. The people I’ve met, as a dentist, have made me a better rounded individual, and I would not be the person I am today without those interactions.
I was inspired to enter the dental field by my father-in-law, Dr. G. Sprinkle. When I saw the happiness in his life, and how rewarding dentistry is for him, I knew it was the right choice for me, as well. I am passionate about providing high quality oral healthcare services for my patients, and helping people in need.
My Education and Commitment to Continuing Education

Although I have recently graduated, I have actively participated in continuing education on topics ranging from implants to aesthetic dentistry to complex treatment planning. I was raised in Fairfax and moved to Salem in June 2014. However, I’ve been dating my now-wife, Wesley Anne, since 2002, and she’s the daughter of Dr. Sprinkle, so I’ve been here quite often. Wesley Anne’s currently finishing her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and will be joining the practice when she graduates in 2016. Our home also includes Brick, our Boston terrier, and Hanna, our cat. Outside of work and being with family, I enjoy fishing and hiking, weightlifting, and playing with Brick.
As I’m new to the community I haven’t yet had a chance to really start contributing. However, I look forward to participating at free dental clinics and through other projects in the near future.
